About Us

The Dutch Shop offers a truly authentic representation of The Netherlands, we are a loud, direct and honest bunch of Dutch workers that like to eat cheese!

The shop is filled with, licorice, cheese, deli meat, homeware and other Dutch products. Our cheese and deli cabinet is filled with one of the largest range of Dutch and other international cheeses in Wellington and we pride ourselves on the many New Zealand cheeses we have on offer. We don’t sell pre-packed cheeses and cut everything on the spot, that way the cheese is fresh and hasn’t taken on any funny smells.

We work closely with local Dutch and German butcheries to offer the best deli meat products. And we also have some good French connections who help us stock up on some delicious French sausiccons and pate’s.

Our licorice on offer is known well outside the Wellington region with people coming from far and wide to fill up a bag (or two!) with our huge selection of Dutch drop (licorice).

The Dutch products on offer through the shop have something for everyone, our authentic Indonesian spices, cans and jars full of typical Dutch vegetables and of course Sauerkraut are perfect to use in many dishes. Our biscuit selection is huge and wouldn’t be complete without our famous syrup waffles (stroopwafels).

We have recently added a European homeware selection where we stock a wide range of Boska products, a well known Dutch brand specialized in anything to do with cheese; slicers, curlers, fondue sets, cheese domes and cheese presentation.

We stock French glassware, woodware and baskets, gift ware from Rader, tablecloths and woodware from Dille & Kamille and tea and handtowels from DDDD.

We will welcome you warmly with a “Hallo en goededag” and will wave goodbye with a “tot ziens”.
